With a sturdy base made out of ash, this purse is both beautiful and functional.  The Black Ash tree is on the Critically Endangered list due to the destruction by the Emerald Ash Borer insect which makes this a precious resource to include in the purse.

This purse was made in a Minnesota Basket Weaver's Guild class with Ellie Lida as instructor.  It was held at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN.
