Materials:  Mary Giles waxed linen thread, rock

I learned this technique from teacher Ann Coddington in the 5 day workshop Sculptural Fibers: Open and Closed Structures at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN.  The thread came from Mary Giles.  She was a well respected basketmaker from Minnesota and was a "fiber artist who transformed basketry."  Her basketry supplies were shared with the Minnesota Basket Weaver's Guild after she passed away and I was a fortunate recipient of some of her waxed linen thread which I used in this piece.
