Basketry reaches back to the beginning of time, requiring only simple tools, the creator’s hands and natural fibers.  National and internationally known basketmakers have been my teachers.  I experiment with a variety of materials: cedar bark, cattails, birch bark, sweet grass, black ash, willow bark, iris leaves, paper, and wire.  My most consistent work is with willow.
